Work with Kim Farris-Berg
Strategy Consulting and Project Management
Two of the most common questions my clients ask me to help them solve are: “How do I move from an idea to implementation?” and “How can my team improve on its current approach?” I am well versed in:
Leading and Facilitating Task Forces, Retreats, and Meetings
I analyze your team’s needs to help you define your purpose and goals, and then structure and facilitate a plan to achieve them over a meeting or series of meetings.
Sometimes it’s better when a third party helps you advance the conversation. Whether a keynote address or a private meeting, I am available to present or have conversations about innovative policies and practices in support of teachers across the nation, and actionable change strategies your colleagues could pursue. In my most popular presentation, Trusting Teachers with School Success, I inspire the audience to think in new ways about teachers’ work, and tell real-life stories about teacher-powered schools where teachers have autonomy to collectively make the decisions influencing their school’s success. I customize this presentation for teachers, providing actionable implementation strategies, as well as union and district leaders, helping them to think about how best to support teacher leadership.
Researching, Writing and Communicating
I design and implement research projects to learn the answers to important new questions, and writing projects to identify and communicate the core findings or messages from research findings, project outcomes, and task force decisions. I write reports, commentaries, journal articles, web copy, and more. I also work well with new media as I have experience with social media campaigns and designing and producing video series. I am effective at communicating innovative concepts to journalists who cover education. Check out my curriculum vitae to access links to past works.
Let’s work together!
I welcome you to email me about what you’d like to do, and how I could be of help to you, and we’ll start a conversation.
