"The Achilles heel of so many initiatives is not the strategy, but poor implementation of that strategy. To be good stewards of our financial and human resources, we must plan, support and measure our implementation efforts in order to achieve the expected benefits for the people we serve."

Too often in education and other human service organizations good ideas are implemented poorly, the desired outcome is not achieved, front life staff are frustrated, the impact needed is not achieved and leaders find themselves in the position of having to relaunch a new strategy or initiative. Scarce human and financial resources were lost. Implementation Science is a remedy for this situation. Implementation Science is a relatively new science that has resulted from the study of cross-disciplinary successful implementations.
Dr. Ann Casey became interested in implementation science as a result of frustration with her own experience of too many failed implementations. Her extensive experience in implementing Response to Intervention, an early intervention framework for K-12 education, is an example of a framework that follows many implementation science principles. Ann’s consulting practice is focused on education and community-based human services organizations where the science of implementation can help improve outcomes and, ultimately, have positive impact on people’s lives. Ann uses a collaborative approach that empowers teams to solve problems and implement chosen strategies well, take a practices to scale and sustain the implementation over time so that students and clients continue to receive the intended positive outcomes.
